TODDLER PROGRAM
Serving students 18 months to 3 years old
Laying the foundation – Our secure and loving toddler enviornment facilities independence, fine and gross motor skill development, and learning through exploration.
Our teacher is an experienced Montessori Toddler Teacher who loves young children and knows how to guide and direct thier advancement.
ELEMENTARY PROGRAM
Serving students 6 years to 9 years
First Montessori Academy on Main offers an exceptional lower elementary program for children ages 6-9 years of age. Our veteran Montessori teacher adheres to an authentic Montessori program where children thrive intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and linguistically.
Each child’s academic goals are derived through careful observations and evaluations. Students use their imagination, create, discover, and learn accountability for their own learning. The elementary level focuses on Language, Math, Science, Geography, Cultural Studies, and Entrepreneurial Skills. Our program is perfectly located in downtown Sarasota which provides opportunities for experiential learning within our local community during “going out” sessions. Children are exposed to local government and local businesses. Our program is exceptional!
PRIMARY PROGRAM
Serving students 3 years to 6 years
Exploratory learning – Our Primary Classroom is filled with carefully sequenced hands-on materials that promote the learning of more advanced skills in areas of: Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Zoology & Botony, Mathematics, Language, and Reading. Individual piano lessons by an expert pianist and art instruction are available as well.
Our Montessori Primary Teacher is a nationally recognized American Montessori Certified teacher with over 30 years of experience.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice has confirmed and approved First Montessori since our school maintains compliance with the requirements governing the state K-12 scholarship programs and s. 1002.42, Florida Statues, related to private schools.
PLEASE NOTE: Parents are responsible for the annual registration fee and before student is accepted our Head of School will discuss the school’s academic programs and policies, specialized services, code of conduct, and attendance policies with the parent to determine which programs and services may meet the student’s individual needs. Additionally, enrolled 3rd year and above elementary students will be required to take an annual nationally norm-referenced test.
STEP UP for STUDENTS (Scholarships for Florida School Children)
1. Florida Tax Credit (based on Household Income)
FES-EO (FL general revenues) & FTC (Private) Florida’s two income-based scholarship programs, the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program and the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO) gives students learning options not available to them because of their financial circumstances.
2. Family Empowerment Scholarship (Unique Abilities) FES-UA
Applies to students with an IEP or an approved medical diagnosis.Parentally placed private school student with a
disability does not have an individual right to receive some or all of the special education and related services that the
student would receive if enrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
